Türkü, Tattoo on the Body (Photo Documentation), Freehand and Collography, 2024
“Tattooing started for me with a search for meaning and getting to know myself. This situation has always been like a long journey, from time to time I was in a very fast search and from time to time I just sat at the stops and took a breath. When I saw the project, I felt the excitement of the road that I had never entered and did not know. Özge was my guide in this process. The most enjoyable part of the project was literally being a 'canvas'. Each new line, each new color added to the canvas increased the rhythm of the process. At the same time, it strengthened the flow of that journey and became a powerful narrator. While the tattoo was emerging, I felt many things at the same time; excitement, curiosity, impatience, happiness, sometimes fatigue, sometimes very strong and very weak. Each new line sometimes took me back to the past, sometimes introduced me to a new me that I didn't know at all. There was a fluctuation inside me; I watched the states of being strong and weak pass by. This journey turned into a story in which not only the tattoo, but also myself was revealed, and my body became the canvas. The result was not just a work of art, but an echo of my own existence.”
